Hi, I’m Shelley—the creator and owner of Lucky Dot Mahjong: Mahjong Made Easy.

After spending 14 years in education as a teacher and instructional coach, I’ve always felt called to help people learn, grow, and gain confidence. As my kids began growing up—a 20-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter—I found myself in a season of transition, prayerfully asking God what might be next.

That answer came in the form of Mahjong.

I fell in love with the game the very first time I played. What started as a casual hobby quickly turned into an obsession. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, and diving deep into the strategy and rhythm of the game. While I loved learning online, it was in-person Mahjong that truly captured my heart—the connection, the laughter, and the sense of community around the table.

That’s where Lucky Dot Mahjong was born.

By combining my background in teaching with my passion for Mahjong, I felt led to create a welcoming, approachable space where anyone could learn to play—without intimidation or pressure. Lucky Dot Mahjong is rooted in the belief that God uses even the simplest things to bring people together, create joy, and build meaningful relationships.

What began as a hobby has grown into a business—and truly, a lifestyle. It reflects my passion for the game, my heart for teaching, and my desire to offer a healthy, unplugged way for people to connect, rest, and enjoy time together—trusting God with the path and purpose He continues to unfold.
